Happy Valentine's Day...

All things nothing, something, and Real Estate - #17

For the gentlemen out there, the day of madness is among us. After 40 years in retail I have watched the day transform into a true last minute gift buying spree of generally roses and candy. I used to spend hours on the Hallmark aisle straightening up cards to help the men with their last minute decisions. The cards are set up usually the day after Christmas but yet we always wait until the last minute when the pickings are slim. Is there a better way?

By the way, have you been wondering where all of the conversation hearts have gone this year? Unfortunately they are absent from store shelves and won't return until 2020. The company changed hands this past year and the new company wasn't able to ramp up production in time for this years Holiday. Eight billion are produced each year!! If you are suffering from withdrawals then check out Ebay where you can pick up a 4-pack for around $10

Alternatives to roses and candy; just get creative... make dinner at home (everything is booked anyway)... night out for a chick flick... Hand written card with your own thoughts (go figure!)... breakfast in bed... tickets to the ballet/show...
